Work work work work work. And work.
But it is relieving to actually have a job-like thing to do, instead of sitting around worrying about The Future (shudder). Plus its quite fun at CQ (and Shoewawa, and Kiss and Makeup, and The Bag Lady). One of the best things about magazines is that PRs send you stuff, and by stuff I mean food! The other day we got glittery brownies! So cool.
Thankfully I haven't made any mega-errors so far, like I did here (God, that was horrible). Plus, I'm getting bylines too which is always good (See here, here, here, here, here and here for a few! Please feel free to comment. Also, it's my birthday in two weeks so if anyone feels like buying me those gold boots, please do).
I might be writing a feature on fashion blogging, and it made me wonder...why do you guys like to blog? Is it to get a foot in the door, or just to share your random thoughts and stuff? I'm interested.
Oh, and I was watching Little Boots on TV the other day and I noticed she was wearing a Manjit Deu dress! You remember I interviewed him? I love it when nice people succeed.
Now I have to go because even though I'd like to hang around in my house all day, I'm going out tonight. Mostly because I want to wear the blue playsuit thing I bought ages ago. Wow, how superficial. Ah well.
Have a good bank holiday!

And I Shall go to the Ball...
For once, I didn't buy a new outfit and just mixed-and-matched all my exsisting clothes, although wearing three skirts IS a good look to get that extra puffyness, boy did I feel the heat when I got into my 'grooves'! It was not nice...I had to end up fanning myself with the top skirt layer...and show the world my tutu underneath. IT WAS SO HOT! I was sweating buckets...so much that my pores got clear and my skin felt super smooth afterwards (I know that is kind of gross...but its the truth)!
I got my littlest sister to do my hair, so that I could wear the fascinator tophat again (which I wore in this Razzle Dazzle post). I got a fat frenchie plait and masses of curls:
Some outfit pictures! I wore a Primark dress (black and white) with a H&M tutu, floral skirt which was made by my sister, the one who also made these geometric glasses, H&M fascinator, H&M denim jacket and LA Gears. And yes, I do look a little circus-act like, but I rather like the look...its 'fun' and remeberable!
(oh and a last minute munch with the hotdog in hand)

A FACE FULL of make up...Lipstick for me is RARE!

Ms. Hood and Proper comes through like Ms. Minnie Mensah-Mouse:

Acting like a bunch of hoodlums...

The fascinator meets Minnie Mouse ears:

A highly enjoyable night indeed, until 5am..which meant 1.5 hours sleep for a 9hour shift the next day!
As some of you may know, I'm going Portugal on Tuesday! So this will be the last post before I go. I have so much stuff to do, like tidy and pack, before I head off for the sun, sea and sand. I hate this part of holidays: the preparing before and the unpacking after...It sucks...
Hope you guys all have a good week, and I will try and enjoy Portugal as much as I can, Internet-less and (almost) phone-less! Off to do a spot of tidying...See you all in a week...when I report back with pictures and, hopefully, a hot tan!

Frame by Frame

Today I had to do a quick H&M dash to change my bikini bottoms: why do they make them so small?!?! I think it is very unnecessary for bum cheeks to be hanging out on the beach, we do not need to be subjected to the glare of dirty men thank you very much. I thought my Minnie Mouse bikini (I'm sure they are not made to attract 20 year old's haha!) would have sold out and I would be stuck with a pair of bottoms that might as well be a thong, but luckily they still had more, whoop! I got a UK size 14 bikini bottom, which is 3 sizes bigger than I normally wear, so that tells you how bloody small they are. If I could, I would have got an even bigger size just so the material across my bum actually covers my whole bum, KMT! This is what I wore anyway:

These are my latest offerings from M.I.S.S., I hope you guys are visiting and commenting you know! If you show some love it will be much appreciated (and you can comment a lot on my posts so they become the most popular ;-) com' on! Do it for me....)

LA Gear: Doin' it Since I was a Kid
Last May I read ALOT about the re-release of the LA Gear Stardust Hi-Tops. Back when I was a kid, LA Gears were at the height of their popularity, Nike were nothing compared to the LA Gear 'Back-to-the-Future' light up kicks that every kid wanted (and every kid who didn't have them envied HARD!!) You know you I owned a pair, well, at least a fake pair anyway...
LA Gear came together with Amsterdam's Club Zonda to make the aptly named 'Fireball' pair in 2008, which are the orange and pink ones. I was super excited as it was supposed to be a European release, but did I any?? Not a single pair! I looked and waited but nothing, I would have never thought aged 20-what, I would want or even own a pair of LA Gears again. But these 'Fireballs' got me hard. And as you can see, I own these bad boys now!
On my usual rounds of the shops in London town, I went into a trainer store..and on the sale rack..there they were. Sitting loud and proud (and quite cheap). I honestly couldn't believe my eyes! After a whole year they just came into the store and hit the sale rack straight away, but I wasn't complaining! I picked the white/green/purple and the Fireball pairs and I was indecisive, as usual. The manager offered me a price that I really could not refuse, both pairs for £65, when the Fireballs were originally £90! And how could I not buy the white/green/purple pair when they came sealed in the original 1980s style box! I would have bought the box alone, it really is the icing on the cake:
And before you ask (because everyone does), no they do not light up.

The day is finally here...
Look how pretty it is!
I loved uni, probably more than anyone I know, and I’m really going to miss it. Over the 3 years I was there, I really grew up and I made some friends that I now couldn’t live without – when they say university are some of the best years of your life, it really is true. It helped that mine, London College of Communication, within University of the Arts London (also home to London College of Fashion, kinda like our more famous and prettier sister, the Hilary to our Hayley Duff if you will) is amazing. Well, I think so anyway, especially in terms of the opportunities it gives us, plus working on a paper is a really fun way to earn half of your degree. It helps to be right in the centre of the industry you’re going into, which LCC really is. We get high profile guest speakers like Rebekah Wade (ed. of The Sun) and Max Clifford and then things like this happen! Incidents like these are why my friend Ailsa is my journalistic hero.
I heart LCC.But that’s enough sentimental rambling about uni, especially since it's probably only brought on by my current emotional state and my dislike of change, because God knows I moaned about it enough the last three years. In job news, I managed to get an internship at Catwalk Queen, which I start on Monday! I’ve read it for a few years and I'm so excited to get to work there! I’ll be there for about two months I think, which means I’ll be there over Graduate Fashion Week – exciting! I wanted a new look for my new job, so I’ve gone for some subtle metallic lycra:
Photo via here. Apart from the nipple tassles of course. Also, is she wearing pants?! Probably not. Glad to see she left her cup at home though.

What's the Next Move??

But, all this free thinking time, has left me pondering what the next step is...whats the next move dudes? I know this may sound a bit stupid, but I feel too young for my backside to be kicked out into the big wide world! I'm only 20! I can't believe all the steps of the UK educational system has been completed, and after being in education for like 17 odd years, I now feel lost. Should I relax for a bit and then get serious, or should I get cracking now? Or should I try and find another part-time job, as my current work place has no over-time hours, and earn some money before I attempt to find more internships all over London town? I am back on board with the lovely ladies of M.I.S.S. Crew, but how about the rest of my free time! Should I like...get a hobby?? Maybe exercise? I just want to do something with my time which does not include spending the cashmonies I am trying to save up for my two upcoming holidays (I think I got a wee bit exited...) So many questions which all leaves me perplexed grrr!!
But enough of about my morbid thoughts on life and the like!
This is (one of) the LAST TIMES I will see the university library with my uni chicas! We couldn't have our lake party/picnic due to the lack of time...but it should be happening soon! No more deadlines, no more unwanted burdens. We will be coming for you jobs (Hi there...HIRE US), watch this space!

For once, a picture of Stephie-Pie and I together!! A rare sight on this blog indeed! Stephie found a book by Judy Blume called, 'Just as long as we are together', which focuses around two best friends called RACHEL & STEPHANIE who have know each other since 2nd grade! This is the exact same as me and Steph!! Odd huh?? If this is fate; our future already written through the words of Blume, Steph and I, must never befriend any chicks called Alison! Fate...or is it just plain coincidence due to our common names?!
Last week, I received a surprising email from Shannon of Urban Start, which is an online street wear and lifestyle magazine and community, based in the Netherlands. Shannon informed me that they wrote a feature post on me! haha, I couldn't believe it! I'm really not that interesting. I seriously thought they didn't know who I was, even though I have been an avid reader for a very long time! There are a lot of 'OMG' comments, thanks guys ^_^! I really appreciate you putting my mug out in the Netherlands ;-D. As you might have guessed, my dutch, like my Cantonese, is rather sketchy, so I can't read, let alone understand, what the cool dudes wrote. Stephie, however, did manage to do a dodgy Internet translation which told me the article basically says,On to the aforementioned M.I.S.S. Crew! You guys all know I am a contributor to this online magazine, and I thought I'd let you know about the new, revamped and drastically transformed website!
M.I.S.S. decided to celebrate its 3rd birthday with this makeover, and I love the new look! M.I.S.S. has gone for a much cleaner, more sophisticated and, dare I say it, mature look! They are normally associated with all that is fun, wacky, colourful and cool - all of which was reflected though the old website format. But, just because the in-ya-face funkness is gone, the inner M.I.S.S. flair is still evident through the posts, style of writing, content, and of course their famous, monthly featured 'Nails-Did to Match the Kicks' calender editorial. No one does nails as hot as M.I.S.S. does nails, check this month...DENIM nails?! Come on! CRAZZYYYY cool :-D:
Another reason to be excited for the M.I.S.S. make over is the new, easy to navigate website. It is now easier to find your favourite stories, as well as, simpler for Gabriella and Liz (editors and founders) to place prominence on special, stand-out and/or proud pieces from the M.I.S.S. archives! And finally...the long awaited CONTRIBUTORS PAGE! Its so nice to find out more about your fellow contributors, to put a face to the words written! Mine is up too...I wished I picked a different picture now, total dweeb:Now guys, be a sweetie and check out the new goods! Show you love ^_^, click here!! Click it!
P.S. I just want to share my shame and disgust for Britain's Next Top Model...actually Britain's Next Top Glamour Model is more fitting. Why do I hate it so much?? Mainly because in the first four weeks of this sham of Tyra's show, they have only carried out photo shoots with lots of cleavage outfits, ED HARDY CATWALK (PUKKEE!!), kissing shots with both boys and girl-on-girl action and of course butt naked shoots. What is this?? Where is the high-fashion editorial 'smile with your eyes' photo shoots that ANTM and Tyra are so fond of??!! This is an embarrassment.
