I now have a Jimmy Choo obsession.

I went to The Sunday Times Style Lecture at London College of Fashion on Thursday, in my capacity as Features writer on the Arts London News, which means I also got in free (saving £30 so I hear)! The featured fashion person this time was Tamara Mellon, founder of Jimmy Choo, who kicked of the evening with a free raffle to win vouchers for a Jimmy Choo bag and a pair of shoes! I didn't win them, or I would have called this post 'I won Jimmy Choos hahahahahahahaha'. In fact I was about three seats away from the girl who got the bag voucher. IF ONLY I hadn't been lazy and walked a bit more. But I'm in no way bitter.

I could have bought these with the voucher. But I didn't win.

Tamara Mellon seemed very nice, and looks very young (at the age of 42...botox methinks). I think she said she had between 600-800 pairs of shoes, which are catalogged and archived. Can you imagine having so many shoes, you had to ARCHIVE them? Still in no way bitter.

I would have archived these. But I didn't win.

And I've decided Fashion Journalist and all round fashion guru Colin McDowell is one of my favourite people in the world. He's just so cute. Google image him. Don't you wish he were your uncle? But anyway, Tamara was also Accessories Editor at British Vogue! Which was when she met Jimmy Choo who was a bespoke shoe maker at the time in Hackney. And they joined forces and SATC happened and then boom. World wide fame. And then they started making other stuff, like bags. Still definitely NOT bitter.

I might've got this bag. But I didn't win.

Tamara also said a quote she thinks people should live by is 'Feel the fear and do it anyway'. So I might Feel the Fear and shoplift those purple shoes anyway.

I quite like this bag too. But I didn't win. Maybe I'll feel the fear for this as well.

If I'm arrested Rach will let you know. Wish me luck.

I love shoes, but unfortunately they rarely fit my rediculously tiny feet. Or perhaps fortunately, for my bank account's sake....

wow, lucky you go to a london uni and get all these cool speakers and raffles, no one seems to want to visit us in Notts. I probably have about 3% of Tamara Mellons shoe collection, but I'm not bitter. Hmmpf.
